Hello everyone, you probably haven’t heard from me for a while and if you haven’t then you might have been wondering what I will be doing next. Last year I decided that it was time to look up cheap holidays during the summer and Krakow, Poland came up that that is where I am flying to this year.
So this year, I will be flying out to Krakow via Frankfurt during my Summer shutdown and I can’t wait to get away again.
Once landed I will be picking up my rental car for the whole 11 days and will be heading to a place on the Polish/German border called Zgorzelec, which looks like a quite a nice place to go and is also nearby to Dresden and Leipzig if taking a day trip to one of them takes my fancy.
One of the things that is quite interesting about Zgorzelec is that it used to be one town with Gorlitz which split apart in 1945, but you can literally cross the bridge in the town and go from the Polish side to the German side and back again as well. It is also near the town of Zagan which I will be driving too and going to Stalag Luft III which is where the great escape happened.
After spending some time in Zgorzelec, it will be time to travel back to Krakow which is also known as one of the old capitals of Poland is a very expansive city and have many attractions nearby that I am sure will keep my busy. Some of my mates from work have also said that the food is also amazing as well.
After 12 days I will be flying back to the UK and at least this time it won’t take 21 hours to get there or back like Japan did. I will do some more updates when I have a better idea of what I am going to do and when I am there as well. Until next time!!!
